“IBUKA” is Ineza's debut full-length album, a deeply personal and musically adventurous project dedicated to her adoptive mother, Francine. Drawing on her journey from Rwanda to Belgium and now London, Ineza channels themes of loss, healing, and personal growth into eight original songs, each shaped by her
emotionally charged vocals and honest storytelling.
The album builds on the foundations of contemporary jazz, blending in neo-soul, folk, and soul influences. Ineza’s writing combines rich jazz harmonies with
memorable, heartfelt lyrics. The interplay between her
voice and saxophone creates a unique conversational
dynamic, while improvisation from the band ensures
each track feels alive and immediate. “IBUKA” is a
striking introduction to one of the UK jazz scene’s most
distinctive new voices.
